Welcome to the the Village Idiot's Home Page! Updated
March 10, 2010 In the small village of Zionsville, Indiana, just 15 miles northwest of Indianapolis, a very strange little man often appears running or walking barefoot. For many years this dude led a straight and narrow existence with a steady job, wife, dog and children. He wore shoes, went to work, was a volunteer for many years with the town's parks department, and wrote a weekly column in the local newspaper. He coached the school's cross-country teams for more than a decade and directed many of the local running events. Then something snapped. He began shunning shoes, quit coaching, stopped writing for the newspaper, left the parks department, stopped eating meat, and began running long distances (as much as 100 miles at a time) often in homemade sandals or barefoot, and taking up odd activities (such as disc golf and the ukulele). Since leaving the local newspaper, The Village Idiot has been without a forum to disperse his random thoughts. This web page is the eclectic collection of thoughts and interests of The Village Idiot sometimes known as The Buddman or Mr. G. Below are a series of links that provide a glimpse of the Idiot's doings: The Way I See It - The Village Idiot's latest forum for his thoughts, schemes, ideas and musings. These writings began in January of 2009 after a nine month hiatus from writing the "Footprints" columns linked below. Zionsville Anti-Mini Marathon - brainchild of the Buddman, recently adopted by a committee of runners wishing to keep this event alive. This free running event is in it's seventh year and will be run on May 8, 2010. Click the link for more information.
