The Zionsville Eagle Elementary Beagles are running in the Zionsville Anti-Mini Marathon

    During the month of April, several 3rd and 4th grade students at Eagle Elementary school have sacrificed playing games during their lunch recess in order to train for the Zionsville Anti-Mini Marathon.  Those students who volunteered to train, have done extremely well and are ready to participate in the Zionsville Anti- Mini Marathon.  I encourage those who have trained to finish one loop of the Anti-Mini course (3.1 miles).  Some students will be able to do more than one loop.  A very few will complete the entire 13.1 miles.  We have stressed endurance during our training and not speed.  The Anti-Mini is a run, not a race, and should be used as a gage for how far we can go, not how fast.

    Qualifications were held at Eagle Elementary School at 11:00 AM just prior to the Earth Day celebration which was last Sunday, April 20 from noon until 3:00 PM.  All students who qualified (finishing 2 3/4 miles) may now participate in the Anti-Mini.  One final day for qualifications will be held this Saturday, April 26 from 10 - 11 AM beginning at the basketball court behind Eagle Elementary school.
