Record turnout for the 2008 Zionsville Anti-Mini Marathon !
The 2008 Zionsville Anti-Mini took place on Saturday May 3. Despite thunderstorms the night before, a large crowd turned out for the sixth running of the event. This year a record number of third and fourth graders participated with five of them going the entire distance.
Prior to the run, Anti-Mini founder and run director, Budd Glassberg announced that this year would be the final year he would be putting on the event. He asked the runners if anyone was interested in taking over the event for next year. Thankfully, there were five people who have offered to share the responsibility and so the event will continue.
The course was muddy, but it was a beautiful day and a record 74 people finished the entire 13.1 miles. 5 made it through 3 loops, 32 finished 2 loops and 94 finished at least one loop. As usual, there were another two dozen or so who had difficulty with the sign in/out process and we got their names. Many others participating had no knowledge of the sign-up sheets.
Zionsville resident Tom Nolan was the first to complete the entire distance, followed closely by last year's first place finisher Patrick Puckett.
The results are as follows:
